The Motion Analysis Laboratory |
The Motion Analysis Laboratory has three missions:
1) to test new prostheses
To provide objective evidences of the real advantages for amputees of new prosthetic components
2) to assess the motor ability of patients
To provide quantitative measurements of the motor ability of patients, thus making easier the answer to open clinical/technical questions
3) to develop new rehabilitation technologies
To develop and introduce in the clinical routine new technologies for the objective assessment of human motion
|
These missions are accomplished by a multidisciplinary team, through front-end technologies, following three mainstays:
1) Start from real clinical problems
2) Assess patients from multiple viewpoints. With the combination of clinical rating scales and objective measurement
3) Master the technologies
Whenever necessary, we develop our own software for data acquisition and processing as well as our own hardware. Our main expertises are on shoulder impaired subjects, above-elbow amputees, above knee amputees and below knee amputees.
